Speaking of leaving things out, the author fails to mention President Bush's America's Home Ownership Challenge" which he signed into law in 2003, which made a point of providing loans to people without down payments. Also left out is that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac were expanding their purchase of subprime loans as a direct consequence of this push by the White House. A push that included a letter from Administration officials which threatened to withdraw the agencies charters if they did not buy more subprime loans. Are you interested in a full and fair discussion of the subprime mess, or just spinning the details to tar selected parts of the government?
