Financial Forensics - Ed Feulner
Yet Fannie and Freddie evaded attempts to regulate them. A big reason is that they cultivated powerful friends in Congress, such as Sen. Christopher Dodd, D-Conn. As chair of the Senate banking committee, he pocketed more than $165,000 in campaign contributions from people associated with Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.[...]

A Model of Successful Education Reform - Dan Lips
Thanks largely to the leadership of former Gov. Jeb Bush, Florida implemented sweeping education reforms to set challenging standards, expand school choice options, hold public schools and students accountable for results, and improve teacher quality. Some of Florida’s most promising reforms include[...]

ANALYSIS: Deflate Balloon of Entitlements - Stuart Butler
Lesson one is transparency: If we can see the problem, we can focus on fixing it. Unfortunately, the congressional budget process keeps the looming entitlement crisis hidden from the public. Budgets typically look only at entitlement costs over the next five years, completely ignoring later years when an aging population will make costs explode[...]

Democrats Behind CRA Cover-Up - Ernest Istook
The left knows that whoever shapes public understanding of what caused today’s economic crisis can shape America’s politics — and its future — for a great many years to come. Thus, they’re pushing the notion that too little government regulation was at fault.[...]

I find the stories posted above are interesting and timely. We have to keep hammering the failures of Democrats with their socialist policies.
The financial mess is due to the creation of CRA and forcing of the banks to make loans to people that don’t have jobs. Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, the two government run piggy banks lapped up those mortgages while at the same time giving themselves huge bonuses on the basis of phony loans. All those executives are political appointees of Democrats.
What really upsets me is that there is no investigation, no punishment in the offing for those involved in this conspiracy and there is no Justice Department handcuffing any of those culprits. They couldn’t wait to handcuff Ken Lay.
I would like to recommend that the Heritage foundation set up a mock trial of US Congress and Fannie and Freddie with Judge Bork presiding. We have to draw attention to it in such a shocking way that wakes up American people from their slumber. Defendants would be Barney Frank, Chris Dodd and other culprits. They have caused enormous harm to this country.

Since the economy has failed, our media tells us that Obama is leading McCain in the polls and voters trust Obama over McCain on our economy. If the people are most concerned with our economy, tell me why they would trust Obama more? Obama is the one most closely associated with the executies and Chris Dodd, the ones who created this nightmare. Obama even has them working on his campaign. Obama will not punish these people.
As an aside, five million (at least) of these subprime mortgages were given to illegal aliens. So I suppose we’ll now pay for their homes so they can comfortably illegally reside in the U.S. on taxpayer social services.
