  • The Seventh Anniversary of 9/11

Seven years ago on the morning of Sept. 11, 2001, America was changed forever. The peace and calm in New York and Washington, D.C., was shattered by terrorist hijackers. With it came the realization we faced a long war to defeat terrorism and preserve freedom.

Heritage’s James Jay Carafano says America is better prepared to deal with the threat of transnational terrorism than it was on 9/11, he explained in a paper marking last year’s anniversary. However, there’s no question the threat still remains. Carafano says these three facts are true today:

    1. Dealing with transnational terrorism takes time and patience. America must adapt to changing threats because of the nature of the enemy.
    2. Washington too often lets bad habits become standard operating procedure. Change comes slowly in the nation’s capital, but it shouldn’t be the reason our homeland security is jeopardized. Policymakers need to fix what’s not working.
    3. Strategy is an essential part of the long war, and policymakers must consider the implications of their actions. Keeping America safe, free and prosperous requires a focused effort, attention and resources in pursuit of national objectives.

While 9/11 offers an opportunity to reassess our safety and security, more importantly it is a time to reflect on the lives lost to despicable acts of terror. Today marks the dedication of a memorial at the Pentagon for the 184 people who were killed when American Airlines Flight 77 crashed into the building. For all of the people who perished on 9/11 in New York, the Pentagon and Shanksville, Pa., may you rest in peace.

This just in: Well, it’s official. The Democratic National Committee has ceased to exist. That’s right, on 09-11-08, the 7th anniversary of the 09-11-01 attacks, the DNC for lack of a better analogy, has been relegated to the dustbin of history. Wherein, it has joined such notables as the former Soviet Union, mood rings, and disco. So long DNC, it’s been real. America needs a two-party system, but the DNC could run on fumes for only so long. It’s up to Barack Obama to restructure the platform. And, perhaps he’s the man for the job. Now the DNC sputtered along nursing its panoply of grievances, eye poking, finger pointing, hair pulling, nail splitting, and head banging from which it garnered a more than substantial income. But shortly after 09-11-01, the DNC also collapsed into a pile of smoke & rubble. Did most Democrats / Liberals truly have nothing in common with, and dislike the very people they relied on to get them elected? D’oh! What happened and why, will no doubt be fodder for more practiced wits than my own; but one thing’s certain: the DNC is finished, the Democratic Party is over: http://theseedsof9-11.com

      hey leonard,

we havn't had an attack here in the U.S.A. for 7 years now.

hussain was in control of the money and had the camps for training and was bragging about the weapons he had.

osama is dead in a cave some where.

    5. John Clancy Wyandot says:

The liberal mindset tends to see no evil. Since they're all too many liberals in this country, due in large measure to the relativism in our gov't schools and universities, we need memorials in concrete, movies, and ceremonies that remind us of the raw evil of 9/11 so that we can live freely in this land, not in la-la land.

    6. Jon, Des Moines says:

      911 was an inside job.

      Look at the evidence.

Steel dose not melt and implode w/jetfuel.

Building 7? need I say more?
