Adriana,
Chavez "bought" the countries you mentioned. With each passing year he is becoming more radical while Washington plays pattycake. Unfortunately, Obama still thinks he is on the campaign trail and doesn't want to get off. No one really knows how many Cubans, Russians and Iranians are in Venezuela. Hugo followed the "Castro Doctrine" since the first day he was president. If something isn't done soon about the appalling conditions in Venezuela, Hugo will be around for another 20 years!

HUGO CHAVEZ is a really misterious person, he changes and transform every point of view he has in order to get what he needs, so he isn´t a threath only because those reasons, is because he is unpredictable. It is important to get into account that he has the support of some countries like Argentina, Ecuador, Dominican Republic and Bolivia. It is important not to understimate anything.

The price of gas at the pump is the least of our concerns. With Chavez, Putin and Achmadenajad(?) conspiring and collaborating, our dependence on their oil is a SERIOUS security threat. This Democrat congress is putting our national security at risk. If one gets in the White House, head for the hills. Drill Here, Drill Now!

Chavez has been allowed to develop a base of very poor people and he is becoming a threat to the stability of South America. Is there any country in South America who has the size and will to stop him?
His alliances with Russia and Iran are becoming an irritant which will have to be dealt with soon.
This only should propel our desire to be free of foreign oil and we must demand Congress get out of the way of the People and drill in ANWR, off-shore, develop shale oil and alternative fuels all simultaneously. It is because of our congress we are in this energy mess. I suggest dumping these bums and getting representatives who will do the people's work.
