Columnist, speech writer and comedian Ben Stein dropped by Heritage today to promote his new documentary, “Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed.” First overcome by the smell of a staff member’s microwave popcorn, Stein eventually settled down with his own bag and and took questions from the audience along with film co-producer Walter Ruloff. (Video available on Ustream.tv.)
Stein said he was first drawn to the project due to his long-held belief that blind adherence to Darwinian theories lay at the root of the Holocaust. The film’s final product, however, and the original vision of Ruloff was to make a film about the importance of freedom of speech.
Both men said they were actively supporting legislation in several states that would protect public school teachers from being fired for raising doubts about Darwin’s theories in the classroom.

I wish every parent in America would take their children to see this, instead of the latest bit of Hollywood fluff. It is sad that a nation founded on the ideals of freedom has so little of it now. Are the libs so afraid that their beloved theory can’t stand up to scrutiny that they must legislate the competition out of the scholastic arena? When will conservatives stand up and be counted for things that matter to the future of our country and our children?
